Amos and the Globetrotters

Meet the Mini

who started it all.

Horsepower has a whole new meaning when you meet Amos the Wonder Horse® - a miniature horse whose mission is to make people smile.

Amos is well known across the internet for shooting hoops with the world famous Harlem Globetrotters. After discovering his basketball talents and his community service work, the team made him an Honorary Goodwill Ambassador. He worked with the team for seven years.

In his community, Amos is well known for his work as a trained therapy horse, making over 150 visits a year to nursing facilities and hospitals, as well as in-home visits for Hospice and medically fragile children and special appearances for local charities. Amos has also been an equine volunteer for his local police department where he had his own badge and ID tag. He worked with a police officer partner presenting his “Just Say Whoa® to Bullying” program to more than 18,000 school children in his community.  Today over 25 mini therapy horse teams are using his program across the U.S., as well as in Canada and the United Kingdom. These specially trained horses work in schools and often with their local law enforcement to teach kids about bullying and bullying prevention. This unique program is the first of its kind to use miniature therapy horses to teach bullying prevention as well as empathy and kindness.

Amos has also been featured in numerous national and international television shows, including Fox & Friends, Right This Minute, Daytime, Sabado Gigante, and has been to New York City to appear on the Today Show, where he won “Best Pet Trick in America” for his basketball skills. He’s been in newspapers and magazines and on websites all over the country and has been featured in National Geographic Kids magazines and almanacs.

In addition to his mad skills on the court, Amos also plays the xylophone, does beanbag and ring toss, solves a puzzle, shakes hands, hugs and kisses, and paints.

You can follow his adventures as Amos the Wonder Horse® on Facebook where you can hear it “straight from the horse’s mouth.” With fans from around the world, Amos works every day to bring smiles to people. Or as he likes to say, “That’s how I roll.”
